The Holiday Festival of Lights started in 1989 with just 12 displays and has grown to over 50 spectacular lighted displays as you drive through scenic Sinnissippi Park. Sinnissippi Park is located off of 251 just across from Sinnissippi Gardens adjacent to the beautiful Rock River. The Festival of Lights is Rockford's 4th largest attraction with over 120,000 viewers annually.
All displays are open for viewing via vehicle Friday, Saturday and Sunday only from 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 pm. To help alleviate traffic congestion for surrounding neighborhoods, the festival will be closed Monday through Thursday. Opening ceremonies including the Community Christmas Tree Lighting will be Sunday, November 30th, 2008, beginning at 5:00 p.m. located at Sinnissippi Gardens Greenhouse. Christmas Eve, December 24th, the festival will be open all night long.
Admission; $1.00 per vehicle & $5.00 per bus.
Festival closed as of December 28th, 2008, at 10:00 p.m.
